Rinjani Be
2½-way floor standing speaker with SATORI® Beryllium tweeters
2½-way floor standing speaker with SATORI® Beryllium tweeters
Named after Indonesia's second-largest active volcano. Erupts accordingly.
The Rinjani Be is what happens when SB Acoustics' Danish engineering team designs a compact floorstander with no committee, no cost-cutting, and no apologies. Dual 6½" Egyptian Papyrus midwoofers handle everything from midbass to the upper midrange, then hand off to the TW29BN beryllium tweeter — independently described by reviewers and engineers as one of the best tweeters in the world. We'd say that ourselves but we're trying to appear modest.
The cabinet is tilted 7 degrees because the Danes are obsessed with time alignment. The faceted top edges reduce diffraction because they're also obsessed with imaging. The internal partitions are angled to kill standing waves because apparently they're obsessed with everything.
SoundStage Australia's reviewer struggled to find a floorstander anywhere near this price that comes close. He suggested doubling the price and you'd be in the ballpark. We quietly agreed.
What's Inside
Tweeter — Satori TW29BN beryllium dome. Seven times more rigid than titanium. Breakup mode past 38 kHz. Transparent, fast, and unfatiguing enough for all-day listening — which you will do.
Midwoofers — Dual Satori MW16P-8, 6½" Egyptian Papyrus cones. SB's proprietary natural-fibre blend, manufactured in-house. Each midwoofer sits in its own isolated chamber to prevent acoustic crosstalk. Low damping rubber surrounds for transient speed.
Cabinet — 18mm MDF with internal bracing. Slanted baffle for time coherence. Non-parallel internal walls. Generous damping material. Rear-firing bass reflex port tuned to 35.5 Hz. Piano gloss finish that your house guests will compliment before they hear a note.
Crossover — 2300 Hz, pre-assembled and tested. Connectors only go one way. Gold-plated WBT-style binding posts because details matter.

"I struggle to think of a floorstander anywhere near this price point offering a mix of such high quality drivers and which is built to this level of integrity and finish. Add to that, most importantly, the fact that Rinjani BE performs, presenting music to very high standards. Think towards double its value and you’d be in the ball park.
Mount Rinjani is the second largest active volcano in Indonesia. As a fitting reflection of the sheer might of a volcanic event, the SB Acoustics Rinjani BE is a force-of-nature erupting on to the quality loudspeaker space. Yes, I’m convinced the Rinjani BE is a compelling, genuine high-end audio bargain." -

Open it up and you'll see why this isn't just another floorstander. Isolated chambers for each midwoofer and the tweeter. Slanted internal partitions. Angular baffle. Every surface angle calculated to reduce colouration and reflections. This is what engineering looks like when the people designing it actually listen to music.
SB Acoustics was formed to bring an alternative to the high-end transducer market. Marrying the design talents of Danesian Audio (Denmark), a company filled with industry veterans, responsible for many well known and revolutionary designs, and manufacturing expert Sinar Baja Electric (Indonesia), a vertically integrated company with more than 40 years of transducer manufacturing experience.
Two blokes. Two decades of building speakers. One unreasonable obsession with getting it right. That's Artisan Acoustics — SB's home in Southeast Asia.
