A 2½-way floorstander built on a pair of six-inch mineral-filled polypropylene midwoofers and a ring radiator, in the only cabinet in the range offered in rosewood high gloss.
About the Arya
The Arya puts two six-inch midwoofers and one ring radiator on each baffle. Two cones sharing the work means each of them moves half as far for the same output, and the pair together present twice the piston area to the room — the quiet way to get level out of a cabinet this size.
Per cabinet: two 6″ SB17MFC35-8 midwoofers and one SB29RDAC-C000-4 ring radiator. The cabinets arrive finished with magnetic grilles fitted, in a choice of seven colours — the only kit in the range for which the factory draws up rosewood high gloss.
The Arya is a 2½-way floorstander: four 6″ SB17MFC mineral-filled polypropylene midwoofers across the pair, under SB Acoustics’ 29 mm ring dome. SB Acoustics translate the name as “wise man”, and pitch it as the sensible choice for an elegant, high-performance tower.
The ring dome is the part worth dwelling on: a large 29 mm dome with a centre termination and a wide, ultra-linear suspension, which SB describes as producing a very “silent/black” background. With two 6″ woofers a side there is enough bass for a room of 50 m² and up.

Ring radiator — One SB29RDAC-C000-4 per cabinet
A 29 mm ring dome on a ferrite motor, behind an aluminium faceplate with its own rear chamber. A ring radiator drives an annulus around a fixed centre plug, which keeps the radiating surface shallow and holds its break-up modes high.

93 dB with a free air resonance of 600 Hz and 100 W rated power handling. A resonance that low leaves room to cross it where a pair of six-inch cones want to hand over.
Midwoofers — Two 6″ SB17MFC35-8 per cabinet
A 35.5 mm voice coil under a mineral-filled polypropylene cone, on a rubber surround, a ferrite motor and an aluminium chassis. The filler stiffens the cone while leaving the self-damping that a polypropylene cone is chosen for.

Fs 33 Hz at a Qts of 0.37 with 39 litres of Vas. SB Acoustics’ own suggested tuning is 35 Hz in 28 litres, and the Arya runs two per cabinet, which doubles the cone area working on the room.
The cabinets arrive finished
The cabinet set arrives cut, assembled and finished at the same works that makes the drivers, on the same machines, to the same tolerances — so the job in front of you is the acoustics: mount the drivers, wire the crossover, fit the damping.
Seven finishes are drawn up for the Arya: white satin, white high gloss, black satin, black high gloss, red high gloss and orange high gloss, and rosewood high gloss — the last of these listed for the Arya alone across the whole range. Magnetic grilles are part of the set, and the set covers two cabinets.
