The Sasandu cabinet, with the cone material changed all the way through: two 7½″ MW19TX midwoofers and a 6½″ MW16TX in the midrange, under a 29 mm TW29TXN TeXtreme dome. Slanted baffle, separate midrange chamber, six finishes with magnetic grilles.
This is the one we built when someone asked "what if you just stopped compromising?"
The Sasandu is SB Acoustics’ flagship three-way, and this is the TeXtreme version of it: a dedicated 6½″ Satori MW16TX midrange, dual 7½″ MW19TX woofers and a 29 mm TW29TXN dome — thin-ply carbon from the tweeter down. Three drivers, three separate bands, three isolated chambers. No asking a midwoofer to moonlight as a midrange.
One of our customers came from Buchardt. Another expected it to sound like a bigger Ara Be. It doesn't. The Sasandu has its own voice — more authority in the bass, more space in the midrange, more of that uncanny feeling that someone dismantled the front wall and wheeled the musicians into your living room.
At 32.5 kg per cabinet it is a two-person job to position, and worth doing slowly — a three-way this size repays being got right.
What's Inside
Tweeter — Satori TW29TXN-B-8, 29 mm TeXtreme dome, neodymium motor. Thin-ply carbon on the same Satori tweeter platform. Extended, smooth and detailed without ever getting aggressive.
Midrange — Satori MW16TX-4, 6½″ TeXtreme cone in its own sealed chamber. This is the key difference from the Rinjani — a dedicated midrange that only handles the vocal and presence band. No bass duty. Just the part of the range where your ears are most critical, handled by a driver with nothing else to worry about.
Woofers — dual Satori MW19TX-8, 7½″ TeXtreme cones. Cast aluminium chassis, neodymium motor, extended copper sleeve on the pole piece, CCAW voice coil. Bass reflex loaded, port tuned to 32 Hz. Two woofers mean more radiating area and less excursion asked of each one.
Cabinet — Triple-thickness MDF construction (28, 18, and 15mm). Slanted baffle for time alignment. Faceted top edges. Separate internal chambers for each driver band. Rear-firing port. Piano gloss finish in a cabinet that stands over a metre tall and looks every bit the flagship it is.
Crossover — 400 Hz / 2800 Hz, three-way. Pre-assembled and tested. Gold-plated WBT-style binding posts.

WHAT are Satori TeXtreme® drivers?
Satori TeXtreme drivers are made of Thin Ply Carbon Diaphragms (TPCD). Thin-ply carbon is a novel type of material that is used in applications that require the absolute highest performance in combination with ultralight weight - allowing the diaphragm to reproduce sounds with extreme clarity.
why use Satori TeXtreme® drivers?
It boils down to physics. Heavier, thicker cones have more mass, which requires more energy from the voice coil to move. Heavier cones also have more inertia, they cannot start and stop moving quickly.
Exceptional Handling
If you have a car, It is exactly like accelerating and braking. A car with shorter acceleration and braking times are well-regarded in the automotive industry as to have ‘exceptional handling’.
Cars like these are sought after as they accelerate and stop exactly where you want it, without overshooting, sliding, or crashing head-first into a car in front of you, when you least expected it.
That’s why car chassis are now made with lighter, stronger materials, so the engine doesn’t have to work as hard, while keeping passengers safe in an emergency.
Reducing drag and flexing
TeXtreme is used in the audio loudspeaker industry due to its high specific stiffness, which allows it to retain shape under high loads. The speaker cone is subject to high stress due to their continuous back-and-forth movement in producing sound.
TeXtreme is lightweight, which helps to reduce the overall weight of the cone, reducing drag and flexing, leading to tighter, cleaner transient response.
How does TeXtreme compare to Beryllium?
Beryllium and TeXtreme are two ways of solving the same problem: a dome stiff enough to stay pistonic, light enough to start and stop quickly. Beryllium is the lighter and stiffer of the two. TeXtreme — thin-ply carbon woven by Oxeon in Sweden — gets close on both counts using a very different material. Which one you prefer is a listening decision, and we keep both here so you can make it with your own ears.
Wouldn’t TeXtreme sound lean and harsh as it is so stiff?
Stiff materials are needed to re-create audio as accurately to the source as possible. This is why SB Acoustics’ Satori TeXtreme tweeters and midwoofer drivers are well reviewed. Despite the stiff material, sounds appear life-like, with good imaging and body, with virtually no harshness.

Tweeter — One Satori TW29TXN-B-8 per cabinet
A 29 mm dome of the same TeXtreme spread-tow carbon used in the cones, on a neodymium motor behind a two-part aluminium faceplate. Using one material from the bass to the top is the whole idea of the TeXtreme range.

Free air resonance 680 Hz and 93.5 dB, on a moving mass of 0.49 g. A low resonance for a 29 mm dome is what lets it be crossed low without being asked to work near it.

Woofers — Two 7.5″ Satori MW19TX-8 per cabinet
The same 39 mm coil and neodymium motor as the Papyrus version, with a TeXtreme cone in place of the paper one. TeXtreme is spread-tow carbon, woven from flattened tows, which is where the checkerboard comes from and why the cone is stiff at a low mass. There is more in our guide to TeXtreme.

The cabinets arrive finished
Every cabinet in the photographs on this page is what turns up on the pallet. They are cut, assembled and finished at the same works that makes the drivers, on the same machines, to the same tolerances — so the job in front of you is the acoustics: mount the drivers, wire the crossover, fit the damping.
Six finishes are drawn up for the Sasandu TeXtreme: white satin, white high gloss, black satin, black high gloss, red high gloss and orange high gloss. Magnetic grilles are part of the set, and the set covers two cabinets.
